I have had other great items off the menu at most Perkins. And will still return. However, this was a so-so experience.
I ordered the regular French Toast. It was good but the bread was a bit dry and chewy.
It's a standard Perkins restaurant. Good food, nice menu selection to choose from. I took my 17 month old out to eat here for the first time. We went during slow hours, 2PM on a weekday. The waitress was very understanding of our needs. Nice french toast for a little one.
This is an OK place to go to when other places may not be open. They do have great pies that you should remember to order when you need something special for an event at home or at the office.
Hostess advised me that there is an hour wait. I took my chances. I was curious to "why" it was a long wait. I ordered coffee and waited. My server was not people friendly, but that was alright because I was sure it was a bad day for her. An hour later, my food arrived. It was not fresh, it didn't look like the picture on the menu, or taste good. Before I left, I asked my server if there was always a long wait. She told me that on a daily base, the wait ranged between 20-25 minutes. If you are a traveler, not a good idea to stop at after a long ride in the car...
Our visit was okay. Our server we have had a few times and the service seems to get worse eat time the other workers took better care of us and apologized for things but we never heard any apologies from our server or recognition for how long we waited until after we paid.
Someone else in my party ordered a BLT. It came on UN-TOASTED bread! When you put the ingredients of a BLT on UN-TOASTED bread, its called a "CLUB SANDWICH". Change your menu, Perkins to reflect the proper terminology for food items.
We had an "OK" lunch at Perkins on Saturday the 26th.
